Poor thing! That has to be miserable...for everyone! Having not gone through any potty training my advice may not be too helpful, but have you tried just getting her comfy with the toilet? Maybe letting her just hang out and read, draw, etc. while sitting on the potty? Since she's had some not-so-good situations in that particular room, I'm sure she tenses up and that probably doesn't help. Is she old enough to take an oral stool softner? Is she eating enough fiber? I am sure you've tried everything :)
Thanks Lindsey! We've tried letting her go in other rooms other than the bathroom with her little potty. We've had to do oral stool softners and suppositories (which are so awful!). She usually eats oatmeal for breakfast and eats apples everyday and most days eats whole wheat pasta too. She's just so scared to go to poo. She has eaten an allergen within the past few days too so her little hiney is so red and we've been going through the desitin trying to heal it. BUT, she did go poo tonight on the potty! After many, many, many tears. :( Thanks so much for your advice and concern! I really appreciate it!
I feel SO bad for all of you! Hopefully tonight's progress will be the start of better times. Have you found a good doctor over there that you trust? Maybe they could offer some advice??
Oh I hear your troubles! Our friends Mark and Kim are going through the exact same thing. They have tried it all and still have no end in sight. They have resorted to all sorts of things. If you find one that works, please let me know so that I can pass it along. This has been going on for 18 months. She does the same thing Addy is doing, holding it and then, whoa momma when she does go and then it is so painful. Please let me know what works for you! Good Luck!
I am sorry Tra - I know this is very stressful for you. The suggestion Lindsey had with getting comfortable on the toilet was mine. We use to give Alyssa a favorite book to read while on the potty (every time) not just poo time....and I would sit in there and read it with her very enthusiatically. Eventually she would just go to the bathroom from sitting there not paying attention. When she finally did that and went poo I made a huge ordeal about it - sang a made up mommy song :) and praised her. We kept up with the book thing for a bit and eventually she just kept going on the potty and just sang songs. Every child is different but I think distraction helps so they are not sitting there focusing on going to the bathroom. I hope after going last night she gets a little better feeling about it. Love you!

Love you!
I don't have any advice. I'm sorry she is having such a terrible time.
Love you!
Mom
Oh no, I am so sorry! It is so hard when there are bumps in the road with potty training. I feel so bad and wish I had some advice for you!
