My sweet 2 week old girl is battling with reflux. Her symptoms seem to have come on much quicker than Addyson's did. We go to the doctor tomorrow. Please say a special prayer that her doctor is open and willing to prescribe the medicine that Addyson was on, Zegerid. It made such an amazing improvement for Addy and I know it will do the same for Kensley. It's excruciating watching your baby in so much pain and not being able to help her because a doctor will not prescribe the meds that she needs. I pray she doesn't have to wait for the medicine and go through tons of doctors like Addy did. Thank you all for your love, prayers and support.

Tracy, I am so sorry that Kensley is going through this and that you are having to see her uncomfortable. We will say lots of prayers that the dr. listens to you and takes into consideration that you have gone through this before and that you DO know what you are talking about! Give that sweet baby girl a kiss and I hope you can get some relief soon!

Tracy, is Kensley on Formula? My sister went through all of this with her two boys 12 and 8 years ago. The first time around, like you, took so long to diagnose. Joshua actually spent some time at Children's in B'ham. Eventually, her kids were put on a formula called "nutramigen", or as we referred to it "liquid gold", very expensive. While it didn't stop the spit up (more like vomit at least 3 times after each feeding), they no longer seemed to be in pain. The screaming and kicking stopped. Truly because of this is why my sister didn't try for a little girl. I am so sorry that Kensley too is suffering as Addy did. My prayers are with ya.

Gina~ Yep, Addy was on Nutramigen for awhile and then was put on Neocate (truly liquid gold!) Its a Rx formula that insurance usually doesn't cover. I've been bf'ing and on the total elimination diet (down to chicken, pears and white potatoes). Kensley wasn't gaining like we had hoped and was in pain so we're on Neocate now and hope to start bf'ing again after her new meds (Zegerid) kick in. We'll see...so glad that our new doctor is awesome!
