Jet Skis, Sting Rays, and Snorkels

I think that title about sums it up. It was definitely an adventure to say the least. We took jet skis out in the middle of the ocean. Huge 8 foot waves (I might be exaggerating a bit) and riding on the back of a jet ski do not mix, for future record. Jeremy got pretty tired of the constant praying in his ear as I was thrown to and fro too many times to count...BUT I never fell off of that thing. I think I had the death grip on poor Jeremy.

For those of you who do not know, I am deathly afraid of sea creatures of any sort. So the idea of me going on this excursion is pretty crazy, but the amazing part is that I am the one who came up with the idea in the first place. I must have been having a brave moment....either that, or the fact that our original plan was to hike on a trail known for not-so-timid snakes.

On with the story...so the jet ski ride would have been enough of an adventure for me for one day, but it was just starting. We went out to this sandbar in the middle of the ocean to feed and swim with sting rays...MONSTER sting rays. I can't describe how big and how many of them there were. And they loved people. One actually jumped into Bethany's arms without being prompted. And their favorite thing to do, other than suck squid out of your hand (yuck) is to rub up against your legs with their arm things or wings or whatever you call them. And they chase you. I actually asked the guide...well, screamed at the guide whilst being chased, "How do you say, 'I don't have food' in sting ray?".

After that, we scooted off on our jet skis to snorkel. And by snorkel, I mean I sat on the jet ski and got some sun while the others waited to be attacked by sharks.

I kid, I kid. It was actually very fun and looking back at it, I am glad that I went. :)

See, I wasn't so scared:

Looks like you guys had a fabulous trip. We are trying to get our summer vacation plans in order. Can't decide what to do, however we have narrowed it down.

As for the video...I laugh at myself everytime I see it. I hope it makes people laugh as hard as I do!!

I am sooooo proud of you! As you know I share that same fear of sea creatures swimming around my legs! The last time Anthony and I snorkeled I looked worse than you in the picture where you're holding on to J :) Too funny! Looks like you guys had a great time and everyone looks great! Miss you - Love you
