Dairy Free Challenge

I have talked about doing it on and off for several months now...and it begins tomorrow. My Dairy Free Challenge. Most of you know that I eliminated all major allergens while I was trying to breastfeed Addyson. Well, it didn't work for her, because her little tummy couldn't process any protein chains (only amino acids) which breast milk is filled with. But, during that time, I did learn some interesting things about my body. Even though I was very depressed about not being able to breastfeed Addy, I knew I was feeling better...healthy...and losing the baby weight without much effort. When I have gone through any depressing times before, my body hurt, I gained weight and had no energy. This time was so different. I think it was the type of diet I was eating. No dairy, soy, corn, egg, processed foods, beef, rice, etc. I was basically eating veggies, fruits, and chicken. Well, not basically...that is what I was eating. I didn't get that annoying body pain that comes and goes on a daily basis. I was sad about Addy's health issues, but had so much strength and energy to continually search online for information and doctors who could help her.

With all that being said, I think a lot of it was tied to dairy. Now, I do not drink milk at all anymore since Addy has been born after finding some disgusting information on what can be found in milk...but I still eat small amounts of cheese and hidden dairy is snuck in a lot of places in my diet. So, I am going completely dairy and hidden dairy free for 14 days to see if I notice a change. I have tried this several times before but have given up a few days in. Check your labels...dairy is everywhere!!!!!! We do not eat fast food anymore, but try to go online and find 1 fast food place that has multiple dairy free items. Even most salads at fast food places are pre-made so the cheese is already there! The only thing I am certain that will be safe is the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and fruit cup at Chick-Fil-A.

I am posting this basically for my own good. If I tell everyone, then I feel like I can't back out! :) Wish me luck and I will keep you posted.
